INEC buries staff killed by gunmen in Imo

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has buried a staff of the commission that was killed by gunmen in Imo State.

INEC announced the burial of the deceased staff, Mr Anthony Nwokorie on Thursday, September 1, 2022 on their verified Facebook page.

The deceased, aged 35, was attached to Ihitte Uboma Local Government Area of Imo State. He was killed on April 14, 2022 by gunmen at Nkwo-Ihitte while on official assignment for the commission.

“On 14th April 2022, Mr Anthony Nwokorie, a staff of INEC attached to Ihitte Uboma LGA office, was killed by unknown gunmen at Nkwo-Ihitte (Polling Unit 004) while on official duty during the just concluded Continuous Voter Registration.”

He is being buried today.

Unknown gunmen abduct DPO in Kaduna

Unknown gunmen reportedly abducted a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The DPO was said to have been abducted along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway on his to report at his duty post in the community. 

The Daily Reality learned that the DPO was recently posted to the community and was abducted around 9 am on Monday, June 27th 2022.

The Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mohammed Jalinge, told journalists in the state that he would get back to them soon.

He said, “I will find out about the incident and get back.”

The Daily Reality reported that the Ansaru terrorist group reportedly took over communities in the eastern part of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State and banned political activities.

Our reporters gathered that this was not the first time that the terrorists conquered the area, recruited young residents and marry up their young girls.

According Birnin-Gwari Emirate Progressives’ Union (BEPU), who spoke through its chairman, Ishaq Kasai, the terrorists have camps in seven political wards in the eastern part of the local government area.

Banditry: Custom officer shot dead, six others abducted in Kaduna

Bandits have shot ASCII Muhammad Maradun, a Customs officer with Federal Operations Unit (FOU), to death in Kaduna.

The Daily Reality gathered that six people, among whom was a bride-to-be, were abducted in the process. 

It has been discovered that the bandits had stormed his house at Rogachikun Community of Igabi local government, Kaduna, in the early hours of Wednesday.

The deceased, Mr Maradun, was reported to have sustained gunshot injuries.

The FOU Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), M.A Magaji, confirmed the victim’s death.

However, the deceased was said to have died while undergoing surgery, putting all attempts to save his life in vain.

Gunmen assassinate Kaduna agency official

Suspected assassins have killed the Director of Operations of the Kaduna Geographic Information Service(KADGIS), Malam Dauda, in the early hours of Friday. 

It was gathered that the assailants attacked the victim’s house located in the Barakallahu community in the Igabi Local Government Area of the state where they assassinated him. Sources have confirmed to The Daily Reality that the assailants killed the victim and took off, leaving all valuables in the house.

Attacks by terror groups on communities in Kaduna have become rampant, with hundreds of people killed or kidnapped in 2021. Despite the heavy deployment of security operatives to the area, the attacks have continued.
