A Russian Su-30SM fighter jet crashed during a scheduled training flight in the Kaliningrad region on October 21, near the town of Chernyakhovsk, authorities said.

The aircraft went down between the settlements of Timofeyevka and Zelyony Bor, close to a local cemetery. Footage circulating online appeared to show the moment the jet crashed and burst into flames.

Both pilots ejected before impact and were rescued. Russian authorities said their lives were not in danger, while local media reported that both were injured and taken to a military hospital.

The fighter jet was reportedly flying without ammunition. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no official explanation has been announced.
