An 18-year-old woman, Fatima Dalha, has allegedly stabbed her 30-year-old husband in the stomach during a domestic dispute in Lirr Bajar, Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2026, following an argument over a phone, clothing wrappers and money the woman claimed belonged to her.

The Bauchi State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Nafi’u Habib, confirmed the incident to journalists in Bauchi.

According to Habib, the disagreement escalated after Dalha confronted her husband and demanded the return of the items and money she claimed he had.

He said the argument turned violent when the suspect allegedly picked up a nearby knife and stabbed her husband in the stomach, leaving him bleeding.

Police operatives from the Dass Division reportedly arrived at the scene and rescued the woman from an angry crowd that had gathered and threatened to attack her.

The injured husband was subsequently taken to a hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.

Habib said the suspect had been taken into custody and that the knife allegedly used in the attack had been recovered.

He added that the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Bauchi for further investigation.

The police spokesperson also disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, expressed concern over domestic violence involving young couples.

The commissioner urged couples to resolve disagreements peacefully through dialogue, family members, community elders and lawful channels rather than resorting to violence.

He also warned members of the public against jungle justice and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring that justice was served professionally and humanely.

The incident highlights the dangers of domestic disputes escalating into violence and the need for peaceful conflict resolution.
