The renowned Nigerian Professor of Physics, Ibrahim Khalil Umar, aka I.H. Umar, died a few hours ago today.

I.H Umar was a Nigerian scientist of repute, and he had once been a University administrator. Wikipedia sources described that he was a Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria, from 1979 to 1986. He held a B.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, an M.Sc. in Physics from Northern Illinois University, USA and a PhD in Physics at the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom. In 1976 he became the first Nigerian academic in Physics to teach at Bayero University, Kano. In 1978 he served on the national constitutional assembly that drafted the Constitution of the 2nd Republic.

Between 1994 and 1997, the late I.H. Umar served as a Sole Administrator of the Federal University of Technology, Minna.

He also represented Nigeria at the Executive Assembly of the World Energy Council in 1990. He was a member of the Nigerian delegation to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference from 1989 and was appointed Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria in 1989. He served as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the IAEA from 2000-2001. In 2004 he was the Director of the Centre for Energy Research and Training, where the first Nigerian research nuclear reactor is located.

In 2007, he was on the international advisory committee for the international workshop on Renewable Energy for Sustainable Development in Africa, held at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in Nigeria.

I.H Umar was among the first five Professors in Nigeria to attain the Chair of an Emeritus Professorship from Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria.

May the Almighty Allah have mercy on him, amin.

    A TRIANGULAR SCIENTIFIC MODEL PREDICTING ATIKU AS THE WINNER OF THE 2023 NIGERIA’S PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

    By

    M. H. Hanjin-Gani
    Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria

    EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
    In this article, we use an existing triangular modelling method in order to predict who is likely going to emerge as president in the next 2023 election in Nigeria.

    The model was built by Prof. U. A. Danbattta, a professor of Geology at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2006 and has since been published on facebook (….comhttps://www.facebook.com/ 353432354730591/ posts/……), and NairaLand Forum on February 17, 2019 (at 6:52 pm).

    The published triangular prediction model is fast, efficient and has a perfect prediction record of forecasting Nigeria’s past quadrennial election rituals for 16 years now (2023- 2007).

    It was regularly updated and used to predict Buhari’s loss to Yar’adua in 2007 and to Jonathan in 2011, Jonathan’s loss to Buhari in 2015 and Buhari’s re-election in 2019.

    The model is based on the underlying dynamics of how elections really work in Nigeria, based on the notion of “Triangular Plots in Metamorphic Petrology”, where the range of Pressure-Temperature (P-T conditions) specific to a triangle are connected by “tie-lines”.

    It has five (5) Key Performance Indicators (KIPs) that are used to determine who will win the next election and these include:

    i) “the past is the key to the present” principle, to draw triangles using the towns/cities of origin of past Presidents as vertexes, whose characteristics are used as indicators to predict the next incoming president;

    ii) when Buhari handed power to Babangida (IBB) in a 1985, the triangle generated (Shagari-Buhari-IBB), is an “Acute Isosceles Triangle” with an angle of 46o in its Southwestern corner and two northerners, which is predicted to be repeated in a 2023 Jonathan-Buhari-Atiku triangle;

    iii) the notion of subtracting the Longitude of the town/city of the Third incoming President from that of the outgoing one, and using the sign of the longitude obtained (either positive or negative) to predict the next president;

    iv) those that were once in power have a higher probability of coming back to rule, and as at the time Obasanjo and Buhari came back to power for the second time, they each came back after 6 Presidents/Head of States, implying Atiku (Obasajo’s Vice President) will need half of this (3), and may now also became the next President after Yar’adua, Jonathan and Buhari; and

    v) the line joining the apex of the Third President (the newest) in a given triangle to that of the First President (the oldest) in the same triangle, must cross or join the “tie-line” joining the Second (outgoing) President and his deputy, in order to exist.

    Based on the above variables and others, the model has predicted that out of the two major political parties (APC and PDP), APC will lose to PDP, and Atiku will emerge as the next President of Nigeria in February 2023.

    However, the model also indicates the possibility of an in-conclusive election or a military coup (if care is not taken), as the 1985 Shagari-Buhari-IBB Triangle is followed by Buhari-IBB-Shonekan Triangle, where power was handed to an interim regime in 1993 that was followed by a coup.
