Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said its air defense forces intercepted and destroyed a US MQ-1 drone east of the Strait of Hormuz, off the coast of Sirik, on October 29.
Iranian state media reported that the drone was brought down by an advanced air defense system operating within the country’s integrated air defense network. The IRGC described the incident as the 14th MQ-1 drone it claims to have intercepted and destroyed.
The claim and the circumstances of the reported incident have not been independently verified. The United States has not publicly confirmed the loss, and details about the drone’s operator, mission and wreckage remain unclear.
