President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to depart Abuja on Thursday for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah, the Islamic pilgrimage, according to a State House statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The statement said the President will use the spiritual exercise for reflection, devotion and prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and continued progress. While in Makkah, he will perform the rites associated with Umrah and seek Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its people.

Before leaving Abuja, President Tinubu will commission equipment acquired by the Nigerian Air Force for its operations at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport.

The President is expected back in the country next week after completing the spiritual exercise, the statement added.
