Suspected gunmen have killed prominent Islamic cleric Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka at his residence in Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State.
According to Katsina Post, the attack occurred at about 9pm at the entrance to the cleric’s residence, where the assailants reportedly opened fire on him and a friend.
The two victims were subsequently rushed to Dutsin-Ma Hospital for emergency medical attention but were later confirmed dead.
The Daily Reality gathered that details surrounding the attack remained unclear as of the time of filing this report, with no information available about the identities of the assailants or their motive.
The killing has plunged residents of the area into mourning, particularly the cleric’s followers and people who knew him.
