Portugal captain and five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has stirred online debate after his verified social media account liked a post that described FIFA as “one of the most corrupt institutions on the planet.”
The post accused FIFA of favouring Argentina and attempting to help Lionel Messi win the FIFA World Cup. It also criticised the governing body’s leadership and rising ticket prices.
Ronaldo’s apparent endorsement of the post quickly drew widespread attention and sparked discussion across social media platforms.
